A damaged panel in an existing fleet
Use an intact panel from the same system as the reference. Record which edge faces outward and how it joins the neighbouring wall.
Keep serviceable tent frames in your inventory with a sidewall replacement program built around their actual fit. DERFLEX supports PVC-coated fabric and custom panel sourcing for rental operators, tent fabricators and fleet distributors.
Specify solid walls, clear panels or window layouts, then confirm finished dimensions, top attachments and adjoining edges before production. Send a drawing, reference panel and quantity breakdown to start your tent sidewall replacement enquiry.
Yes—tent sidewalls can be replaced separately when the new panels match the existing tent’s approved dimensions and attachment system. A nominal tent size alone does not establish compatibility: check the hanging height, panel coverage, top fixing and vertical joins.
This page covers commercial event tent sidewall replacement and marquee side panels. For broader enclosure design, see our canopy sidewall fabrication guide. For material-only orders, explore DERFLEX tent fabric supply.
Use an intact panel from the same system as the reference. Record which edge faces outward and how it joins the neighbouring wall.
Compare colour, window layout and connection condition across the run. New white fabric or clear film may look different beside weathered stock.
Create a separate drawing and panel code for each compatible family. Similar widths can conceal different rail profiles, heights or closure directions.
Choose the layout for the event, then check how it will be cleaned, handled and replaced between hires. Keep panels with different purposes identifiable in storage.
| Panel type | Where it fits | Specify before ordering | Fleet consideration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solid PVC sidewall | Privacy, perimeter screening and back-of-house areas. | Colour, light transmission or blockout requirement, coated base fabric and cleaning conditions. | Compare a swatch with retained stock; “white” does not define an exact colour match. |
| Clear vinyl panel | Views and daylight around reception or hospitality spaces. | Film gauge, clarity, border reinforcement, cold handling and packing method. | Clear film shows scratches and creases. Handling and storage matter alongside thickness. |
| Window sidewall | Wedding marquees and events needing privacy below a viewing area. | Window outline, insert size, spacing, sill height and alignment across adjacent panels. | Retain one layout revision so replacement windows line up with the fleet. |
| Door or access panel | Planned entrances, service routes and equipment access. | Opening position, clear opening, closure direction, tie-backs and adjacent wall interfaces. | Coordinate public exits with the event plan. A zip opening alone does not establish exit compliance. |
| Mesh insert concept | Ventilation zones where full rain screening is unnecessary. | Mesh construction, opening size, reinforced border and fastening layout; confirm material availability. | Mesh passes air and can admit rain. Treat it as a distinct fleet item. |

Compare clear PVC film options for tent windows when specifying transparent areas. Confirm light transmission for opaque fabric rather than assuming that every white panel is blockout.
Replacement party tent sidewalls are not universally interchangeable. Record the panel geometry and both connection directions, even when two tents have the same advertised footprint.
A fabric match is not a system approval.A compatible coating does not validate the frame, anchors, exit arrangement or installation. The operator must follow the tent system’s instructions and site plan.
Prototype the interface.Ask for a first panel or connection sample before a fleet order. Trial it with the retained roof edge, frame and adjoining walls, not only as a flat panel.
PVC-coated polyester provides a reinforced, cleanable material route for opaque sidewalls. Flexible clear PVC is a different construction used for transparent panels or inserts; it should be assessed with its border and joining method.
Discuss coating, surface finish and welding suitability with the PVC tent and awning material team. For exposure conditions, review the outdoor event tent fabric options.
| Specification | Define for your fleet order |
|---|---|
| Supply format | Fabric rolls, cut blanks or finished replacement panels; confirm the fabrication scope in the quotation. |
| Opaque material | PVC-coated polyester; agree colour, light transmission, surface and base fabric. |
| Transparent areas | Flexible clear PVC film; agree thickness, clarity, reinforcement and insert layout. |
| Weight / thickness | Confirm against the reference, handling method and performance brief; heavier is not automatically a better match. |
| Panel geometry | Finished width, coverage width, drop datum, corner arrangement and dimensional tolerances. |
| Connections | Top fixing, left/right joins, end offsets and interface samples where needed. |
| Seams / hems | Approved seam layout, compatible welding or sewing, local reinforcement and bottom finish. |
| Outdoor handling | Expected sun exposure, service temperatures, cold folding and cleaning products; agree the material requirement. |
| Testing | Required fire, strength, tear, seam or other tests; confirm applicability, evidence and acceptance criteria. |
| Order / packing | Panel quantities by code, label location, packing protection, destination and required delivery date. |
Make the sample, drawing and acceptance checklist part of the purchase order. These four release checks help define what the rental operator and supplier will approve.
Agree the panel drawing, outside face, window arrangement, material sample and revision. Keep a retained reference for later comparisons.
Check actual hanging height, adjoining joins, bottom clearance and access. Test the connection fit before authorising the remaining batch.
Set dimensional tolerances, appearance limits and seam checks. Include fastener position and window alignment in the inspection record.
Specify model family, panel type, revision, orientation and lot reference. Agree packing that keeps incompatible panels and loose fittings apart.
Illustrative fleet label
Use your own codes. A revision identifier helps warehouse teams select a compatible replacement and lets purchasing repeat the approved configuration.
FLEET A · WINDOW WALL · REV 02
OUTSIDE FACE → · LOT: [AGREED REFERENCE]Rental service exposes panels to repeated installation, washing, packing and transport. Capture these conditions in the material brief rather than judging a replacement by appearance alone.
This is a procurement triage guide. The rental operator or responsible installer makes the serviceability decision.
DERFLEX supplies coated tent materials and supports custom manufacturing enquiries. Bring the material, fabrication and packing requirements into one discussion, then confirm the scope for your replacement panel order.
MOQ, sample arrangements, price and production timing depend on the confirmed construction and order mix. Request a project quotation rather than relying on a generic per-panel price.

No. Panels must match the finished geometry, top attachment and vertical joins of the existing system. Tent footprint, panel colour and nominal height are insufficient to confirm compatibility. Use a drawing, reference wall and trial installation.
Record coverage width and finished width separately, then measure the drop from an agreed attachment datum to the finished bottom. Include overlaps, skirts, pockets, fixing pitch and end offsets. Mark the outside face and photograph both vertical edges.
Possibly, subject to interface confirmation. Match the keder bead with the actual rail, and match zipper halves by type, size, length, slider and orientation. Send an interface sample or detailed drawing and approve a trial before ordering the full batch.
Use solid panels where screening and privacy matter; use clear areas where views and daylight are priorities. Window walls combine an opaque body with viewing inserts. Compare handling, cleaning, film protection and appearance against the event mix in your fleet.
Specify the required fire test method and destination rules before quotation. Availability and supporting documentation must be confirmed for the selected fabric, clear inserts and construction. No fire classification is assumed for every panel or complete tent.
Send the quantity and configuration for review. A single replacement needs careful colour and connection matching; a fleet batch needs an approved reference and panel breakdown. MOQ and sample arrangements depend on the material and fabrication scope.
Finished dimensions, material, clear insert layout, closures, reinforcement, quantity, tests and packing all affect , the quotation. Timing also depends on sample approval and production scheduling. Provide the required arrival date and destination so feasibility can be checked.
Follow the confirmed material care instructions. Start with a compatible mild cleaner and a soft cloth, test a small area, and avoid abrasive handling. Dry panels fully before storage; protect transparent surfaces and agree whether folding or rolling suits the approved construction.
