What Is a PE Tarp?A PE tarp, poly tarp or polyethylene tarpaulin is typically made from woven polyethylene reinforcement laminated with polyethylene film. The woven layer carries much of the handling and tension load, while the outer PE layers provide the water-resistant surface, color and weather barrier. For procurement, the product name alone is not enough. Two tarps can both be sold as “heavy duty PE tarp” while using different total weight, weave structure, film quality, UV stabilization, reinforcement and eyelet design.
