Purpose-Built Covers for Steel, Aluminum and Other Round Loads
Coil tarps are truck tarps shaped or sized to cover cylindrical cargo carried on flatbed trucks and trailers. A fitted coil tarp—often called a coil bag—uses a rounded upper profile that follows the coil more closely than a general rectangular cover. The closer fit reduces excess fabric, simplifies tensioning and helps drivers create a cleaner covering layout around the load.
The lower portion can be designed with divided corners, chain flaps or chain-access slots so the weather cover works around the cargo-securement system. Square coil tarps are another option when a fleet needs more flexibility across different coil dimensions or wants one cover to serve several low-profile loads.
Why not use a lumber tarp for every coil?
Lumber tarps provide deep drops for tall freight, but that extra material can be unnecessary around a single coil. A fitted steel coil tarp bag can reduce folding, loose fabric and handling effort. A short-drop steel tarp or square coil tarp may remain the better choice when load dimensions vary frequently or when one tarp must cover coils, plate, machinery and compact industrial cargo.
