Heavy Duty Tarp Supplier Quote Comparison Tool
Compare three heavy duty tarp supplier quotations against one buyer-controlled specification. Enter the actual finished dimensions, fabric construction, seam and hem design, hardware, order quantity, packaging and delivery terms. The tool finds missing fields and scope deviations, then calculates documented price totals only when the unit basis is clear. It produces a printable supplier evaluation sheet and a CSV difference report for procurement review.
No quote submission, tracking or automatic freight, tax or currency estimates. Your inputs remain in this browser tab unless you export or print them.

Compare the same delivered tarp—not three headline prices
A tarp supplier evaluation sheet is useful only when all suppliers quote the same deliverable. A PVC-coated finished cover with welded hems, eyelets and individual bags is not interchangeable with an unfinished roll or a cut panel. A different quoted quantity or delivery basis can invalidate a simple “lowest price” ranking.
Use this workspace after sending a common heavy duty tarpaulin RFQ template to all candidates. For material selection and end-use details, review heavy duty tarp construction and applications before freezing the specification.
Five gates before cost ranking
- All offers cover finished tarps at matching finished dimensions.
- Material, seams, hem, fittings and reinforcement match the required scope.
- Quantity, packaging, inspection and any branding match.
- Currency, Incoterm and named delivery place are equal.
- Unit basis and separately quoted extras are explicit.
Buyer-controlled specification
Use one SKU and one purchase quantity. Enter finished rather than raw cut dimensions. Blank mandatory requirements prevent a clean comparison. Tolerances below only apply to numeric finished dimensions and GSM; they do not silently authorize a change of material family, construction or hardware.
Enter Supplier A, B and C
Transcribe the actual quotation as written. Enter 0 for explicitly no extra order fees; an empty fee field remains unresolved. “Included” means the supplier explicitly confirms it in the price. Select the actual unit basis rather than forcing a material-only m² price into a finished-tarp price.
On a phone, swipe horizontally within the quotation grid. Blank rows are treated as missing—not as matching the RFQ.

What the comparison checks—and what it deliberately cannot infer

| Check | Automated rule | Buyer follow-up |
|---|---|---|
| Dimensions & area | Compares finished length and width in m; calculates rectangle area; applies buyer-entered % tolerance. | Review drawing revision, drops, folds and cut-size basis. |
| Fabric weight | Checks nominal GSM against buyer-entered tolerance; does not infer quality from GSM. | Confirm base yarn, coating route, test method and material code. |
| Construction | Flags differences in seams, hems, hardware, spacing, patches and declared price inclusions. | Approve hardware count, reinforcement drawing and sample. |
| Scope & delivery | Requires matching packaging, branding, inspection, currency, Incoterm and named place. | Ask for excluded items and revised delivery quotation. |
| Price normalization | Per piece × quoted quantity; per finished m² × quoted rectangular finished area; or quoted lot total. Adds only explicitly entered extra charges. | Check whether unit price includes conversion, packing and documented charges. |
| Exceptions & evidence | Records missing or different data; does not judge inspection reports or laboratory performance. | Request quote revision, approved sample and supporting document IDs. |
Make a responsible supplier shortlist
Separate price exceptions from capability evidence
Supplier A may offer a higher finished-piece price and still be the only supplier that quotes the full specification. Supplier B may omit eyelets or bags, while Supplier C may propose a different fabric. Resolve these differences with a written revision rather than treating unpriced components as zero-cost.
A price table does not prove a manufacturer can maintain the same specification in production. Use a tarp manufacturer evaluation checklist to examine production responsibility, sample approvals, inspection references and change control. For larger repeat programs, see wholesale tarp procurement and industrial tarp supply options.
Before You Order
- Attach the drawing and specification revision to each revised offer.
- Ask each vendor to mark included, excluded or substituted components explicitly.
- Confirm eyelet/D-ring type, spacing and location; fabric waterproofing alone does not ensure a waterproof finished assembly.
- Record color approval, sample reference, inspection evidence, packing labels and reorder code.
- Compare valid lead time, payment and delivery exclusions independently; this tool does not score vendor reliability.
For individual cost drivers and a single-quote area estimate—not multi-vendor exceptions—refer to the separate tarp cost guide. Material-grade context is available in heavy duty PVC tarpaulin specifications.
Heavy duty tarp quote comparison FAQ
How do I compare three heavy duty tarp supplier quotes fairly?
Use one controlled finished-cover specification. Check dimensions, material construction, seams, hems, hardware, quantity, packaging, inspection and the same Incoterm with its named place before ranking prices. This tool flags omissions and deviations and calculates only what was explicitly entered.
Why is the lowest quoted price not necessarily the lowest comparable price?
A quote may omit fabrication, fittings, inspection or packaging, or use a different quantity and delivery rule. Compare total entered charges per finished piece and per finished square meter only after those scope differences are resolved.
How is finished tarp area calculated?
For a rectangular finished tarp, area in m² equals finished length in meters multiplied by finished width in meters. Total finished area equals that result multiplied by the quoted piece count. The calculation does not estimate cutting waste, seams, gussets, side drops or material consumption.
Can I compare a supplier price per piece with a price per square meter?
Yes, if the square-meter price explicitly covers the same finished-tarp supply scope, the same finished dimensions and quantity. The tool multiplies price per finished m² by quoted finished area. Material-only square-meter rates must not be treated as finished-cover offers.
Does this tool calculate freight, customs duty, VAT or foreign exchange?
No. The tool does not create freight quotations, customs-duty rates, taxes or currency conversions. Enter only verified charges already quoted and compare offers in the same currency and named delivery scope.
What if a quotation leaves a field empty or says “to be confirmed”?
Treat the scope as unresolved. Request a revised quote showing the missing material grade, hardware, packaging, commercial basis, or other mandatory item. Unknown fields block a clean like-for-like finding rather than being silently assumed included.
Can I print or export the tarp supplier evaluation sheet?
Yes. After entering or loading an illustrative example, use Print comparison for a browser-printable report, or Export CSV for a spreadsheet-friendly difference table. These outputs do not send your supplier information to DERFLEX.
Need a matching DERFLEX tarp quotation?
Send the finalized tarp specification, drawing, quantity, packaging requirements and named delivery term. DERFLEX can discuss coated tarp materials and finished-cover options, with final commercial amounts confirmed through a real RFQ. This page does not generate freight or duty figures and does not submit your comparison data.
